Application Instructions

At Golden Beauties Driven to Doodles in Upstate NY we have very well socialized dogs

Application Process

PUPPY ADOPTION PROCESS:

We strive to select the best match for each family and we in turn must also select the best families for our pups to be adopted.  Thereafter the prices are as follows: Goldendoodles $2500; Golden Retrievers $2000

The $500 non-refundable reservation includes, but is not limited to:

a. immediate placement on the puppy waitlist so that you do not lose your place on the list while your application is being processed as the application process may take some time.

b. the application process, which includes but is not limited to a background check for all family members on the application and reference checks.

c. interview through zoom or video conference

Please fill out the application in full, all information is vital to process your application. to hold placement on the waitlist, Reservation fee is due 24 hours after application acceptance.

After careful review of your application we start a checking process to ensure our pups are placed in safe and non-abusive homes. We strive to locate the best possible homes for our pups.  We then conduct the first interview which can be held via zoom call or comparable technology, everyone in the family that resides in the home must be present for this call to best assist in the interview process.

Our litters usually consist of an average of 6-8 pups per litter and we try to breed 1-2 girls around the same time so that we can have a great enough selection for families to be matched to. The first families on the waitlist will be offered pups from the most current litters IF the litters meet their needs and requirements.

If a family is not ready when offered or if they have not been asked offered from those current litters due to an inability for us to match the right puppy for them  they will not lose their place on the list but will be offered upon the next litter availability.  Between 6 and 7 weeks we select the pups for each family that has committed to the litter, by that time puppy needs to be paid for and contract needs to be returned to us. Puppies can go home between 8 and 9 weeks, any length of time that puppy remains in our care past 9 weeks the owners will incur a charge of $125 per day up to 3 days past the 9 week of age mark of puppy, anything past 3 days incurs a charge of $800 per week payable in advance or by cash upon pickup.  Past 13 weeks when Rabies is required the board and train cost is $1600 a week.

Visitation

VISITATION:

You are welcome to pick your puppy up from us or visit your puppy (if in training) after initial vaccinations (ie. 8-9 weeks old). Prior to that if you want to meet one of our babies we can connect you with someone in your area that has one of our pups and would be willing to meet with you, we have puppies (now mostly adults) in many areas!

Just as an FYI You should never visit breeders, stores with pets, etc., there are too many chances for communicable diseases as Immunity to parvo is not full until pups have received all vaccines which is 16 weeks so if a breeder allows visitation we would recommend not getting a puppy from them as the one you get could have contracted something from anyone that "visited". So be cautious! If you wanted to meet one of our former pups we can connect you with a family that has one in your area and let you meet theirs and see the amazing quality we breed.

As far as temperament, Stacy is a certified canine behavior consultant and been a trainer for decades, We would never breed any dogs Stacy did not feel were of sound mind, also know that most of our pups are homed with families that have a child that has been diagnosed with autism or a learning disability so we pride ourselves on choosing the absolute best match for each family!

Need more info?

We encourage you to take a deep look through the website as it demonstrates far more details about our breeding program than we could say over a mere phone conversation. Once you have been educated about the extensive experience and looked through Stacy's credentials as well as the genetic tests that we personally test all our dogs for, note we also now test all puppies as well so basically there is no way you could get a dog from us with any genetic problems. Note that nature does take its own course as it does in humans and things can happen but our 6 year genetic health guarantee (also available in detail  https://goldendoodlesny.com/health-guarantee ) covers genetic conditions if by chance they pop up although extremely unlikely and I have never had one of pups diagnosed with a genetic condition in 15 years of breeding... if that doesn't show the professionalism than I am not sure what else can be said to convince you.

Families will be matched with an available puppy based on the following criteria: Take home season (as close as desired as possible), most hypoallergenic, coat color and style, generation and size, temperament.**    *Stud dog for all F1 Medium litters will either be Jack or Mance; both equally amazing health wise as well as personality. All bitches and studs are genetically cleared prior to breeding.**Breeding is based on demand as we accept reservations prior to the breeding of the pairs to ensure each and every puppy will be matched with the perfect family. Golden Retriever & Goldendoodle Facts

The Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever was developed in Britain in the 1800's specifically for retrieving game; the first person to have actually been credited with the coining of the breed was Sir Dudley Majoribanks (later referred to as Lord Tweedmouth), he began with Nous who was a yellow flat coated retriever in 1866 (Cairns 1999). In 1868 Nous was bred to Belle who was a Tweed Water Spaniel which was a favored retrieving dog at the time; Nous resembles the Golden Retrievers of today (Cairns 1999). The breeding of Nous and Belle produced 4 yellow colored pups named Ada, Crocus, Cowslip and Primrose; Cowslip was bred to Tweed (a Tweed Water Spaniel) and then bred to Sampson (a Red Setter) (Cairns 1999). In 1884 Jack (male from Samson and Cowslip) was bred to Zoe (Flat coated black Retriever whose sire was a flat coated Retriever and dam was Topsy daughter of Tweed and Cowslip) (Cairns 1999). The last breeding that Lord Tweedmouth entered was that of Nous (II) and Queenie, Queenie was a daughter to a black flat coated retriever and Gill who was from the same litter as Nous (II); two yellow colored pups were whelped from this pairing named Prim and Rose (Cairns 1999).    References:Cairns, J.
